No More Trust

Fire and ice
Both burn my soul.
They hold my spirit
In a vice.

I am burning,
I’ve lost all hope,
You’ve destroyed
My ability to cope.

I was gullible
I was naive,
But I will trust nevermore.
Love I’ve come to abhor.

Note. This is a found poem. The words Fire and Ice, Nevermore and Hope have been borrowed from poems by Robert Frost, Poe and Emily Dickinson respectively.
